Tikta means bitterness. A medicine in ghee form is used in the treatment of Skin Diseases. It is also called Tiktaka Ghritam and Tiktaka Ghrita.

Uses  

It is an effective anti-inflammatory, it is used in Panchakarma treatments and as a medicine to treat inflammations associated with eyes, skin, etc, and also reduces burning sensations. It is beneficial in treating conditions associated with Pitta dosha.

It is traditionally administered  during the Spring Season because it helps balance Pitta Dosha.
